Mini BBQ

Today was a great day for going out and doing outdoorsy activities. Naturally it started out a little humid but cleared up by the later afternoon and by dinnertime it was ready for a nice BBQ. Heck it beat cooking indoors. The menu was an obvious and fast choice: Chorizos with toasted rolls, and some beer. Cooked slowly lends the chorizo to a wonderful duality of flavor and complexity: crunchy grilled exterior, soft warm interior. These aren’t your Mc Dog’s… these were hand made chorizos and brought in from NYC. The cook out was nice and took one hour…a total of two hours was used to prep, cook, eat and clean the area. Heck the grill is still outside, warm and ready for more coals to be added should I feel like adding another!

It was so nice that we let the doggy sit out with us and the local wildlife came on by to join our shin dig. Sadly Checkers may have passed and his/her rival made it through the winter… and shall be called : Marbles! After all, squirrels always need crazy names!

  1. Great pics! The chorizos look yummy, and an ice cold beer is always a perfect complement to grilled food. Can’t wait to start grilling!!!
